I would like to start out by saying that I’m a girl who lovvvves to be home. But that being said, I definitely get the itch to travel, and it hits me like a drug. I’ve spent quite a bit of time in Italy, and got the craving to go back.. not for work, but for fun. Trekking around Europe is definitely a treat, so I wanted to take advantage of being over there. Italy was for sure on the list, but where else? Barcelona is close-ish, right!? Before long, Barcelona became the first destination on my itinerary.
One of my best friends wanted to check Paris off her list, and met up with me when she finished gallivanting around. As soon as we checked in and dropped off our bags, we headed to Aperitivo (happy hour) down the street. Beer and appetizers after a fourteen hour flight? Yes please.
Seeing people out and about, laughing, drinking, and enjoying each other’s company made me immediately feel the exotic, Spanish vibes. The city continued to impress me with its history and particularly the art of Barcelona’s most prized architect, Gaudì.
Every day consisted of wandering around in search of monuments and a good happy hour. The plethora of gelato shops served as a warm up for Italy; we indulged to say the least. We found ourselves at a salsa club one evening, which became one of my favorite nights when we ended up on the terrace of our temporary home, enjoying the company of new friends conversing about life over a bottle of wine.

Stay tuned for Italy and Budapest!
