Lover’s Carvings; “Play Me”

Valentines Day can be a stressful Holiday with trying to figure out things like who your Valentine is, if you’re single, if you’re not single, where to go on a date, heartbreak, blah blah. It can be a day that comes off as cheesy or annoying like a mosquito circling your head while you’re trying to sleep- I get it! I started thinking how sad it is that so much anxiety can come from a day that is really all about “Love”. My view of Valentines Day has changed into admiring what “Love” can be, and it being not only unconditional, but about having love for everyone.

We often forget to love ourselves.. We need to love ourselves and take care of ourselves so that we stay healthy and are full of happiness to share with others. V-Day love for ourselves can be the smallest thing like telling yourself you are good enough and unique and special (as weird as that sounds), or something more materialistic like treating yourself to a spa day or something yummy like ice cream; just saying!!

Love can even be as simple as appreciating things like our health, the weather (finding beauty in both warmth and cold), nature, food, technology, art, and one of my absolute favorites.. music. I’ve included a playlist in this post that I feel is full of love. It has a plethora of genres including tropical, surf-rock, rock, acoustic, electro-pop and electronica that all radiate the different emotions love gives like happiness, joy, pleasure, pain, sadness, nostalgia; soak it all in for what it is!

Everyone needs love, and whether its to our friends, family, lovers, ourselves, or even our anxieties, we can all give a little more love- especially this V-day.
